FAITH BUILDING

ROAD MAP FOR GUIDING OUR SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION AND REACHING THE LOST

GIFT believes the church's ability to love as Christ loves us -- and to reach the un-reached -- will only be enabled via our transformation to a fully devoted follower of Christ.   GIFT helps answer a few key questions:  How do we know if we’re there?  How can we make a bigger impact?   Is there a roadmap to transformation we can follow?

GIFT has developed a Spiritual Road Map to help us assess and guide our lives in realizing all Christ intends for us spiritually - in terms of personal spiritual transformation and in support of reaching the lost. This chart can help us all see where we are in our faith maturity and identify ways we can grow in our faith to become more like Christ.

Transforming Lives via a Migration of Faith

Unreached Unbelief, denial or misdirected belief  Confessed faith, but may not be "sold on" the joys of Christ's lordship. May be weak witness  Under Christ's lordship, filled with the Spirit; full of joy knowing and witnessing God's love of grace
Lack of access to scripture or witness Heard message(s) but has yet to accept Has accepted Christ's saving grace, "friendship"; but may not realize importance of holiness Love/reverence for God as creator/savior
May be in lands where preaching Christ has not been allowed/is hindered by persecution May not have been invited to/comfortable in church to experience God's grace, goodness, holiness, love, mercy,
forgiveness, peace, joy, power and plan for us
May lack reverence/healthy fear of God and may fail to submit to Christ's lordship

May still seek approval from others vs. God
Lives in Christ vs world/in Spirit and Truth

Pursues holiness.
Dies to self and sin.
Knows Christ, the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering. Is yoked with Christ in gentleness and humility

May be involved in other faiths May not accept that sin exists; may believe all inherently good, or... May feel born again yet may continue in willful sin

May struggle in sinful nature vs. live the fruit of the Spirit
Truly repentant. Hates evil. Obedient.

Lives fruit of the Spirit
 vs sinful nature

Eternal perspective drives all actions
Deeply loves others
 as Christ loves us

Compassionate, serving, meeting needs

Prayerful. In the Word. Fasting.

In church to fuel worship & witnessing

Unaware of Christ's love, sacrifice, forgiveness, joy, power and plan for our lives May feel unforgivable and separated from God Has form of Godliness but may not know its power

May be lacking in prayer/word/fellowship

Cares of the world, deceitfulness of wealth and pleasures may choke from being fruitful

May have yet to deny self, pick up cross, sell everything, give to poor in exchange for treasures in Heaven, then follow Him

May be hurt/bitter; may not be fully forgiving

May still boast in self vs. Christ; may not acknowledge God's full provision

May not be content; may grumble, may covet

Submits to God. Contented. Joyful.

Understands all comes from God; purpose is to glorify God and to do good works

Honors life. Seeks justice. Loves mercy

Forgives as Christ forgives us

Burdened over others' welfare, their dying without Christ; their sin as it offends God

Willing to sacrifice all for others

Stewardship of love/talents/resources for the kingdom
May be too hurting from poverty to see spiritual need May have chosen other belief over Christianity; not seeing Christ as only way

May be impeded by evolution theory, personal experiences, suffering, church's weak witness, busy-ness, our own interpretation of what God should do
Heart may not be be set on things above/eternal

May seek church primarily for own needs vs. equipping to glorify God/win souls for Christ

Could be hurt by weak Church witness
May be too accepting of sin/culture vs. heeding command to turn sinners from sin

May not lift Christ as only way to be saved

May succumb to persecution. May shrink back

May not show enough love/holiness - may be compromising witness or  indifferent to others' loss

Could be what Jesus calls "ashamed" to confess

Not ashamed. Too excited about our Lord/our inheritance to not share
